So excited to announce The Baub Show with Bob & Sherry live form @TheGlobalVoice Studios premieres Sunday October 16th!
Lance Bass is back on The Baub Show and I want to hear from YOU!
August 21, 2011- It is no secret that Lance Bass is a dear friend of mine and I am thrilled to be having him back on the show!
To change it up, I am asking for some input from you, his favorite fans and friends. Typically when artists are on a show, they are asked questions in an effort to get to know them better and plug their latest projects.
Since Lance has not only done thousands of interviews and shared all there is to share (he’s even already written a book about his life), he’s also currently hosting his own weekly radio show on SiriusXM called The Pop Ten (which on a side note, I will be co-hosting this week).
Since this show is all about gratitude, I thought it would be fun to turn the tides and have you guys write a short paragraph or two to me and let me know what Lance means and has meant to you over the years. I can’t promise to get to every single one, but I will definitely read as many to him on the air that I can. Those that I don’t get a chance to read, I will have printed out and hand to him after.
All you need to do is either leave your message in the comment section of THIS BLOG POST or you can email me directly at TheBaubShow@gmail.com. Then be sure and listen in live, this Sunday at 4pm Pacific/7pm Eastern at www.thebaubshow.com to see if yours gets read on the air.
And don’t worry, we’ll still be talking about his latest projects and of course his new show!
It is that time of year again and there is less than a week left.
It would mean a LOT to me and for many various reasons, if you could take a second and nominate my little show for a People’s Choice Podcast Award.
The reason: while of course it would just feel good to be able to call The Baub Show an award winning show, more importantly, the winning would bring wonderful exposure to my show that has become a real love of mine. While I certainly enjoy doing it for the small audience that I have proudly created, it would be nothing short of awesome to build that audience into a grander scope.
How you can help?
Simply visit: www.podcastawards.com
The category: Cultural/Arts
The URL: www.thebaubshow.com
(and while you are there, my friend Phil has an awesome podcast, My Life As A Foodie (www.mylifeasafoodie.com) that would also make a great nomination under Food and Drink.
Please post on your Facebook and Re-tweet your Twitters. You can only submit one nomination this year, so I really am relying on the number of people to do this to get ‘er done!
Thank you in advance!
July 19, 2010- At the turn of the millennium, NSYNC and Backstreet Boys were at the top of the pop culture food chain and reporting on it all from the front row was MTV VJ, Dave Holmes. On the other side of the aisle was The Baub Show’s host and a friend of the band, Bob Merrick.
What was uncanny was how the two resembled each other, causing fans to often mistake Merrick as the popular MTV host (a fact that was featured prominently on the original planetbaub site with side by side comparisons on a page entitled, “I am not Dave Holmes”). On tonight’s show, Bob and Dave finally meet and chat for the very first time and catch up with Dave’s latest adventures, including his new blog, “My Year Of Everything“, where he is spending a year reading books by people who took a year off to do something and then writing his own book about it! Co-hosting tonight will be Sherry Layne, who is premiering her brand new Baub Show exclusive web series, “Quantum Sleep” and another new regular series from Eric Shane!
This Will & Grace outtake is exactly why I am so excited about tonight's show!
I’m so excited about this nomination and now I want to WIN! Your vote means the world to me! Just visit http://www.podcastawards.com then scroll about half way down the page and in the left column, I am nominated under Best Entertainment Podcast. Just click there and submit your name and email at the bottom (strictly to make it legitimate, you won’t be added to any lists). You may vote once every 24 hours! Oh, and PLEASE tell all of your friends and mailing lists!
So here’s the thing: I know I’ve been a little negligent here on Planet Baub and I am feeling a little guilty about it. But, I know my little blog will always be here as our relationship ebbs and flows like the tide. I haven’t had a lot of free time lately, and the time that I have had, I have been dedicating to another blog, The Baub Show.
What’s the difference you ask? Well, The Baub Show is my weekly internet radio show. It is my dream I’ve always had finally turned into a reality. Each week it is growing bigger and bigger as my audience expands and returns week after week. This week I had Anna Faris on and some former Big Brother houseguests. During the live broadcast, I had 1600 people listening! I couldn’t believe it! The week before I had around 1200 for Lance! To give some perspective, I had about 30 people listening during my first broadcast.
Now here is a little interesting statistic about that 1600 number. I think it is safe to say about 1% of those listening are my friends and family! Which means I am hitting a really great chord with strangers and future Baubles, but I need to figure out how to reach my own peeps! The biggest hurdle I am having is letting people know that if you miss the show live, it is still available to listen as a podcast on iTunes or even directly from the player on the website (just use the pull down menu that says “Previous Shows”). I figure if I can add a few of my friends and family to my listening list, I should be able to break 2,000 listeners in no time!
What suggestions do you have for me to get the word out? What can I do to get you listening? I have just made this little digital postcard. Feel free to share it with your friends and leave me a suggestion in the comments below.
On this week’s show I have Travis Wall from So You Think You Can Dance. Excited doesn’t even begin to describe how I’m feeling, but humbled is definitely a start.
